One of the most popular recreational pastimes in Australian is recreational boating. Sailing, jet skis and fishing boats make of the majority of recreational boats used most weekends in waters all around Australia.

A site I just finished developing is called New & Used Boats Sales Australia It is made up in 2 sections. New Boats Sales is the main site with the second part of the site nominated to used boat sales which draws boats and boating accessories from Australias largest website, Ebay.

Last count we had over 5000 used boats and nearly 200 new boats listed within our pages. Boat finance and insurance can also be secured while on just one website.

As an ex boat owner(I sold my latest boat a few weeks ago) I am now in the market to find a new boat. I have a number of options to find my new toy.

1. I can buy my latest newspaper and browse through the used boats for sale page, hoping to find the toy of my dreams. This option is the one most new boat owners use to find used boats. However, you are competing with dozens of other would be buyers with the same idea in mind.

2. You could cruise around looking at all the used boats in the marine stores. this option is also used by most would be boat owners. But I personally leave this option last, as most of the boats in boat yards are quite expensive and in most cases, are usually trade-ins and wont have the options you may be looking for.

3. Looking online, through boats sites. I personally like this option as most boats are shown with full descriptions, usually much cheaper and because they are online, boats from all over the country are shown. So you have a much larger selection of boats to chose from.

Ebay is my personal choice for selecting a used boats I like. I do a search on ebay for used fishing boats(because I am a fisherman and am looking for a new fishing boat) and am presented with dozens of boats to select from.

Some of these boats maybe in another state. No problem there! Its very easy to either drive over and get it if your the successful bidder, or you can organise to have it sent over by frieght. If you get it for a reasonable price, the cost of frieght can be bartered for.

So, the next time you are looking for a new toy, check out the used boats on ebay first. Not only will you save money, you will get exactly what you want.
